Kumeū – The Clear Difference

Back in 2008, we completed a striking retrofit project in Kumeū where the impact of double glazing became instantly visible.

The day after we upgraded the side panels of the doors in the main bedroom, we returned to find a perfect contrast:
  – The newly double-glazed panels – crystal clear.
  – The untouched single-glazed doors – completely fogged up with condensation.

This powerful moment captured what makes retrofit double glazing so worthwhile: better insulation, less condensation, and a more comfortable, healthier home.  It’s transformations like these that fuel our passion 21 years on.

Accacia Bay, Taupo – Stunning Views Through Large Raking Windows

Completed in 2009, this home overlooking Lake Taupō was a technically rewarding project from the early years.  With large, raking windows and a challenging install height, the homeowners wanted to reduce heat loss while keeping their incredible view.

This was one of our first complex raking window installs and it confirmed our ability to retrofit double glazing in high-end architectural homes.  It also highlighted the importance of precision systems and specification software in custom glazing.

To access high or difficult glazing areas, we can organise scaffolding or crane services at competitive prices, meaning even the most complex homes can benefit from energy-efficient window upgrades without breaking the bank.

Skyline Rotorua – Views Without Compromise

In 2013, we took on a unique commercial retrofit at one of Rotorua’s most iconic destinations: Skyline Restaurant.

The floor-to-ceiling single-glazed windows were letting in too much heat and glare, disrupting both comfort and the spectacular view.  We installed double glazing selected from Saint Gobain’s Coolite™ range, a high-performance solution with:
  – Exceptional solar control low e glass
  – Reduced glare without tint
  – Larger, uninterrupted views

As only the second building in New Zealand to feature Coolite™, this project set a new standard and directly inspired our Supertherm Cool™ product we now install today.

Lake Tarawera – Heritage Meets Innovation

This board and batten beauty in Lake Tarawera, Rotorua, needed a performance upgrade without losing its natural charm.  In 2016, we retrofitted the original timber joinery with Supertherm™ Double Glazing, enhancing warmth and energy efficiency, while preserving its timeless look.

This project is the perfect example of blending heritage with innovation, a durable upgrade, designed to last for decades to come.

Mangawhai Heads – Coastal Comfort Reimagined

In 2017, this 1980s beach home in Mangawhai Heads received a full window refresh.  Out went the teal-green aluminium joinery; in came sleek, thermally enhanced frames with Supertherm™ Double Glazing.

To ensure year-round comfort, the homeowners opted for a tailored mix of Supertherm Cool™ (east-facing windows) and Supertherm Warm™ (for all other areas).  The result?  Bright, inviting interiors and a major boost in insulation and solar control, all wrapped in a crisp, modern aesthetic.
