Having had magnetic secondary glazing already, I was not sure about the extra benefits of full double glazing. However, after we got a quote for some of the house, it seemed for the sake of overall aesthetics that we should also replace the secondary glazing in the bedrooms as well.
Although they kept the rooms slightly warmer, the secondary glazing was quite difficult to keep clean and there was still condensation to deal with. As well, it was a trial opening the windows as the plastic surrounds warped and buckled.
Now the full double glazing has been installed it has made a huge difference to the look and feel of the whole house. I know it’s warmer because I can’t turn the heat pump as high or for as long as I used too – too hot! It is now much easier to control the temperature throughout all rooms, has minimal condensation and, most importantly, looks ultra-modern!
